Mechanical thermometers can be completed with electrical contacts (including explosion-proof) and protective sleeves for the immersed rod, and can be combined with electronic temperature sensors.

The thermometers can be equipped with electrical contacts (including explosion-proof) and protective sleeves for the immersed rod, and can be combined with electronic temperature sensors.

Temperature is the value of the thermal state of a homogeneous substance, that means that the value of the average kinetic energy of its molecules. A tight temperature contact is needed between the two bodies in order to take the same temperature (temperature equalization). The measured body should be in the closest possible contact, which is possible, with a thermometer. The most famous methods of measuring temperature are based on the properties of substances and bodies that changes with temperature.
