3D scanners Artec 3D company 3D-scanner Artec Leo

Artec Leo is the first 3D scanner with built-in automatic data processing technology, which makes the scanning process so intuitive that now shooting a 3D object is no more difficult than shooting a video. You can watch the progress of scanning and creating a 3D model in real time on the Leo scanner screen. Return your 3D model, check that all areas are captured, and rescan the areas you missed

With a 3D scanning speed of up to 44 frames per second, Artec Leo is today’s fastest portable professional 3D scanner. Moreover, its wide angle of capture of the image allows you to accurately and quickly scan and process the data of objects of a large area, for example, such as rooms. And for the scanner to recognize the smallest details, just bring it closer to the object

3D scanning technology developed by Artec 3D allows you to obtain information about the surface of objects (depth) with high accuracy and speed, using the principle of structured illumination, and the camera built into the scanner captures the texture of the object. Thanks to this technical solution, 3D-scanners Artec allow you to receive high-precision full-color computer models of complex objects

The data are obtained by designing a special grid at the parallax angle onto the scene objects. The lattice projection distortions created by the geometry of the objects make it possible to calculate the exact position of each of its points in three-dimensional space. The resulting points are triangulated, forming a polygonal surface, which can be represented in any of the common formats

Application in various fields

Healthcare

Scanners are indispensable in various medical applications, from prosthetics and orthotics to plastic surgery or dentistry. Whether it’s an impeccably accurate anatomical 3D model of the human body, a bespoke implant, or a customized wheelchair, our 3D scanners will help you bring high-quality, specialized care to your patients

Manufacturing

Scanners are industry-leading precision instruments that play crucial roles in a variety of processes in industrial design and manufacturing. From product development to manufacturing, our high-precision 3D scanning solutions cut the time and cost of capturing object data. Highly accurate scan data improves the reliability of processes, and seamless compatibility with a variety of widely used CAD and CAM programs allows you to deploy them in quality control, reverse engineering, and many more manufacturing-related use cases

All the way from design and rapid prototyping to reverse engineering and quality inspection, 3D scanners have become part and parcel of automakers’ technology toolsets. They allow to capture accurate, measurable 3D data from any part or component from tiny to very large. 3D scanning lets not only speed up day-to-day productivity, but shorten output development lifecycles, and facilitate the manufacturing of high-performance vehicles without compromising on safety or quality standards

Whether it’s a classic car restoration or a brand new automotive prototype, Artec 3D’s lightning-fast scanners deliver high-accuracy 3D surface data on every step of your design, prototyping, engineering, or manufacturing workflow

Heritage preservation

Scanners help you meld art, science, and innovation into precise 3D replicas of the world’s most treasured artifacts, structures, and sites. Whether you’re a museum curator preparing a digital exhibition or an archaeologist shedding light on extinct civilizations, Artec scanners will provide accurate, detailed scans for your object in record time

Forensic

With your Artec 3D scanning solution, you’ll easily create virtual copies of crime scenes, accident scenes, as well as the physical evidence within, exactly as it was at the moment of scanning, with no risk of contamination or damage. The 3D data you obtain will give you the power to determine both how and when an event occurred. In just minutes, you can capture evidence indoors or outdoors, including bloodstain patterns, bullet holes, tool marks, shoe prints, and much more

Visual effects and computer graphics

3D scanning technologies have become an essential component of modern filmmaking and virtual production pipelines, enabling computer graphics and visual effects producers, TV and film creatives to develop unique ultra-realistic 3D assets from real-world objects

From virtual location scouting to prop making and set decoration to creating the most identical digital doubles for actors, 3D scanners allow filmmakers and VFX studios to streamline their production workflows, create more realistic experiences, and unleash creativity — all while saving time and cost

Features and benefits

Scan anywhere. No computer. No cables

An all-new, cloud-connected, WiFi-enabled, and completely cable-free design lets you take Artec Leo’s immense scanning capabilities wherever you need them without ever needing a computer

Interactive 5.5" touch panel

With Leo’s intuitive UI, you can manage your device, scanning process, and scan data. The touch screen builds a real-time replica you can interact with while you scan, showing you areas that need attention, and helping you quickly get the best results

Smart data capture, no targets needed

Leo’s state-of-the-art hybrid geometry and texture tracking frees you up from using any additional equipment like targets or markers for stable scanning. You can just point it at the object and start scanning. It’s that easy

Distance color map to aid scanning

To help you keep the optimal distance to the object during scanning and thus capture more data in less time, Leo has visual aids in place. The surface you’re scanning will be displayed in red on Leo’s screen if you’re holding the scanner too close to it, or blue if the distance is too great. And if it’s green? All systems go — you’re doing everything right

ÐSmart scanning, less processing

Powered by proprietary AI technology, Leo captures only the data you need — more intelligence for less processing time and cleanup work

Multi-core processing

With the fastest embedded AI supercomputer onboard, Leo gives you exceptional speed and power-efficiency

Scan in sunlight

With Leo’s Class I Laser projector, a pattern invisible to the human eye is projected onto the surface of your object, so you can easily scan in sunlight

HD Mode

The resolution of your scan data steps up 2x while removing noise for you, leaving you with the tidiest noise-free 3D model. Hard-to-reach areas and difficult-to-scan surfaces such as thin ridges or sharp corners are now easier than ever to capture, with enhanced reconstruction and improvements to edge curvatures. Forget about texture bias too — there’s no room for false geometry from high-contrast texture here. Expect true-to-life 3D models in stunningly high resolution

For excellent geometry and color representation

We’ve packed Leo with advanced tech to capture rich texture, adjust to lighting conditions, and perform precise texture-to-geometry mapping. Leo has a two-in-one optical system, an integrated supercomputer on a module, position sensors with 9 DoF, and VCSEL light technology that varies flash intensity

Versatile, reliable software

Powered by Artec Studio and Artec Cloud integration, this versatile scanner is now more powerful than ever. The software enables you to scan directly to the cloud, remote-control the scanner, and even build your own functionality with a dedicated API and SDK
